About Blue Roo Theatre Company

The company was founded in 2009 and incorporated and registered as a charity in 2014. Blue Roo Theatre Company Inc. is a not-for-profit independent production company. We provide an essential link between the disability community, the performing arts sector and the broader community. All performers in our productions have a range of abilities, and people of all abilities are welcome.

WE’RE A NOT-FOR-PROFIT PRODUCTION COMPANY

Under the guidance of highly regarded and experienced performing arts coaches, the performers themselves use their curiosity and imagination to develop their stories and creativity, bringing their different abilities together to create highly effective and heart-warming public performances.

Each Blue Roo production is unique, with an original script, music, movement and costumes.

We use an action learning process to help the performers develop their movement skills, stage skills, problem-solving skills and confidence. An action learning approach is very different from a “one size fits all” approach.

Under the guidance of highly experienced theatre coaches, the performers themselves use their curiosity and imagination to develop teamwork, bringing their different abilities together to create highly effective and heart-warming public performances.

Blue Roo develops and produces a range of live and digital performing arts that cater to the diverse needs of all abilities, e.g. full-scale theatre, small ensemble melodrama, regional touring, digital productions and inclusive sector knowledge products.
